About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience working within or in partnership with higher education institutions, public sector organizations, or community-based initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of the mission of community colleges and the strategic vision of Dallas College.
  • Proven track record of cultivating and managing high-level relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of community engagement, public affairs, partnership models, and development strategies.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with best practices in higher education community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate, and maintain high-level relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement engagement strategies that foster trust with diverse communities.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify partnership opportunities.
  • Establish systems and metrics to track, evaluate, and report partnership outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted contact for partners and maintain open communication.
  • Research best practices and adapt frameworks to Dallas College.
  • Provide strategic counsel to the Vice Chancellor of External Affairs and senior leadership.
  • Leverage analytics to evaluate partnerships and measure community impact.
  • Represent Dallas College at meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional, legal, and ethical standards.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess program effectiveness.
  • Assemble a talented team and foster a positive work environment.
  • Supervise and develop high-performing teams, manage staffing plans, budgets, and resources.
  • Make informed and timely decisions that align with the organization’s goals.
