The Associate Dean of Student Engagement provides vision, leadership, and direction for the Student Engagement department, overseeing the Harper's Early Alert Team, Student Engagement Communications and Marketing Assistant, and Student Conduct and Outreach. This position is responsible for student programs and initiatives, including student governance, clubs and organizations, leadership, and multicultural programming. The Associate Dean also serves as a Title IX Deputy Coordinator, integrating co-curricular programs to create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging experience for all students through collaboration with the Campus Well-Being Collective.

  • Provide vision, strategic direction, policy interpretation, implementation, program compliance, leadership, supervision, support, and evaluation for the effective operation of the Department of Student Engagement.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate all direct reports in areas of responsibility.
  • Develop, implement, and assess Harper's student leadership program and extracurricular transcript.
  • Serve as a Title IX Deputy Coordinator, responsible for compliance regarding campus-wide Awareness and Prevention programming.
  • Provide oversight and direction for the student conduct and outreach program.
  • Lead the Harper Early Alert Team (HEAT) and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations for behavioral intervention and threat assessment.
  • Develop, administer, implement, and assess the annual Campus Well-Being Collective programming model.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for the Department of Student Engagement Clubs and Organizations.
  • Support college initiatives focused on the recruitment, retention, academic success, and graduation of diverse and under-represented students.
  • Provide direction and guidance on all marketing and communications for student programming and outreach.
  • Serve as lead co-advisor for Student Government.
  • Oversee and administer all student engagement budgets and allocation of student activity fees.
  • Serve on Shared Governance Committee(s) and act as Building A administrator.
  • Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education leadership, or related area required.
  • Minimum five years of progressively more responsible experience in student life, advising student clubs, student conduct, multicultural programming, and student leadership, preferably at the community college level.
  • Evidence of work experience incorporating a global perspective and demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity in higher education.
  • Demonstrated intercultural knowledge and competence.
