The Associate Dean, Nursing provides leadership and works with the School Dean and the academic administrators of the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs to manage each program and the Nursing Unit as a whole according to Stevenson University and Berman School of Nursing and Health Professions policies and procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assessing nursing program quality and effectiveness, maintaining nursing program accreditations and coordinating all reporting related to accreditation, serving on external committees and boards related to nursing, facilitating partnerships with clinical agencies and other organizations to support the mission and functions of the Nursing Unit, monitoring program budgets, and collaborating with nursing academic program administrators to hire, train, and mentor faculty and staff. The Associate Dean, Nursing has a faculty appointment in nursing and may teach up to a maximum of 6 contact hours per year in their areas of specialty. This 12-month staff position serves as the Chief Nurse Administrator with responsibility for maintaining accreditation of all nursing programs and as such plays key roles in supporting the teaching, scholarship and service activities of the faculty in the Nursing Unit in alignment with School and University requirements.
