The Associate Dean of Grant Writing at Iowa Central Community College is a pivotal role responsible for researching and identifying prospective funding sources, including corporations, foundations, and government agencies, to secure financial support for the institution. This position requires a high degree of independent judgment, initiative, organization, communication, and research skills. The Associate Dean will conduct comprehensive grants research, engage in project planning, and work towards the expansion of resources to support college-wide activities. In this role, the Associate Dean will serve as a team leader, coordinating all grant writing initiatives that align with the college's strategic goals. This includes attending meetings to identify and prioritize project needs, coordinating and researching grant assignments, and creating or editing grant opportunities. The Associate Dean will act as a resource for staff and faculty, providing assistance in the conceptualization, planning, development, writing, and editing of grant applications, including budget preparation and accreditation processes. Additionally, the Associate Dean will maintain detailed records of submitted and funded proposals, proactively identifying and resolving issues with funding agencies. Collaboration with various departments within the college is essential to ensure that federal, state, corporate, and private funding opportunities are effectively tracked using appropriate databases and systems. The role also involves responding to grant deadlines and working with Information Services for data collection as needed for grant applications and accreditation requirements.
