About The Position

The Associate Dean for Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment at the CUNY School of Medicine plays a crucial role in advising the Dean on assessment, accreditation, and compliance matters. This position is responsible for leading institutional assessment, research, strategic planning, and compliance efforts, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and data-informed decision-making across the institution.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years of related experience.
  • Preferred: MD, PhD, or EdD with 8-10 years of experience in institutional research/effectiveness or related area, including supervisory capacity.
  • Prior experience as an Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) or similar position with knowledge of accreditation standards.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, quality assurance, and employee engagement.
  • Superior interpersonal and effective communication skills (written and oral).
  • Advanced knowledge of data extraction and reporting from database software, Tableau, Power BI, or other data analytic applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in data management and data quality improvement techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight of the execution of the assessment and accreditation processes related to the MSCHE and other college program accreditations.
  • Coordinate and oversee all accreditation activities, including self-studies, interim reports, and site visits.
  • Ensure that the College meets all MSCHE standards and requirements and prepare required documentation promptly.
  • Develop and implement assessment plans for non-academic divisions and departments, aligning assessment activities with institutional goals.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of data dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Use assessment findings to identify areas for improvement and support the development of action plans.
  • Direct operations involved in the research, review, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of data used in assessing institutional effectiveness and student success.
  • Communicate assessment results and insights to various stakeholders, including students, staff, faculty, and college leadership.
  • Pursue opportunities where strategic research can drive significant outcomes and shape data into strategic priorities.
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of plans to address recommendations from accreditation reviews.
  • Provide training and support to faculty and staff on accreditation processes and requirements.
  • Recommend policies and procedures to improve the School's institutional effectiveness programs.
