Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an experienced Database Engineer level 1/2 . This position will be located at our Advanced Weapons Business Unit in Northridge, CA . This role is onsite and follows a 9/80 schedule. Hybrid and remote work are not allowed . Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or equivalent discipline and 0 years of experience in Engineering, Finance, Project Management, or related technical fields.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) or equivalent discipline and 2 years of experience in Engineering, Finance, Project Management, or related technical fields.
  • Effective Customer Service skills/capabilities with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally inside the organization
  • Demonstrate knowledge of CM principles, concepts, practices, and standards
  • Able to work in a fast-paced production environment with the ability to handle competing tasks
  • Excellent communication, business analytical and problem-solving/trouble shooting skills
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills to include the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Experience using any industry-standard Product Lifecycle Management systems such as Team Center (preferred).
  • Ability to acquire DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Self-motivated and able to work productively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good attention to detail, follow-through, and time-management skills.
  • Demonstrated good verbal/written communication skills & proactive inter-personal initiative.

  • Ability to work onsite in Northridge, CA

  • Experience working in or providing engineering support to manufacturing or test/evaluation, particularly for DoD projects

Responsibilities

  • Input metadata into TeamCenter and ensure process and requirements are followed.
  • Support pushing Change Notices through EPLM workflow.
  • Creating and delivering engineering briefings or reports to support design activities.
  • Uphold engineering standards and best practices.
  • Develop processes and training intended to improve work product and design department efficiency.
  • Assist team to develop/document best practices and mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Create and maintain design history files and track design defects, assign priority/severity, ensure design owner assigned, and report on status.
  • Establish agendas, publish minutes & track meeting actions
  • Tracking & reporting task status.
  • Collaborating with other functional areas on various aspects of product design/documentation, including procurement, production, logistics, or configuration management.
