Associate Data Scientist
About The Position
Biogen is looking for a Associate Data Scientist to join our Data Science team in the Global Data and Analytics Center of Excellence within our commercial operations. As a member of the Data Science team, you will be tasked with weaving data together from across Biogen to help answer some of our biggest commercial questions. Utilizing your business knowledge, you will help move the company forward in our use of data and advanced applications of emerging technologies. What You’ll Take On: As part of the data science team, you will be working directly with teams across our Commercial organization, including but not limited to: Market Research, Patient Services, Promotional Effectiveness, Forecasting, Digital Excellence and many others at a global and local level. You will work with these teams on some of our most complex questions in the organization. You will be exposed to many different types of data and technology. This is a great position for someone who wants to be exposed to the use of advanced analytics in a corporate environment. Work will directly influence multiple business processes and will drive both long and short-term decisions across Biogen. Along with working closely with business partners, projects will be in conjunction with business intelligence, data engineers and project managers to produce and roll out high quality results. This position will take data from multiple sources and aim to solve business problems using every method from statistical models to predictive machine learning models. Hire will be responsible for presenting rational behind models used, how it fits in with the project, and how the results will affect long term strategy and market opportunity.
Requirements
- Knowledge and proficiency in at least one scripting language (R or Python preferred) and confidence in utilizing SQL to pull, filter, and sort data from databases.
