Position Summary The Associate Data Scientist will contribute to data-driven initiatives across the organization, applying advanced analytical, statistical, and machine learning techniques to solve business problems. This role supports the design, development, and deployment of AI and automation solutions in areas such as claims processing, fraud detection, financial workflows, and human resources (HR) operations. The individual will work closely with data science, IT, and business teams to translate business needs into actionable data solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making. Projects may include data preprocessing, model development, process automation, visualization, and deployment in a cloud-based environment such as Microsoft Azure. The role offers exposure to modern AI technologies, including computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), and large language models (LLMs), while providing hands-on experience with real-world healthcare data challenges and enterprise-scale systems. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college required; degrees in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields preferred.
  • Three or more years of insurance or finance experience in data science with a focus on data analytics, machine learning, and deep learning.
  • Proficiency in Python and relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, NLTK, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Textract).
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying and preparing data from relational databases.
  • Experience with data analysis, visualization tools, and workflow automation using AI or scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and in team settings.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with automating financial workflows using data science or AI-driven approaches preferred.
  • Experience with cloud environments such as Azure or AWS a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, analyzing, and modeling data to uncover insights, support decision-making, and develop predictive or prescriptive solutions.
  • Designing and implementing automation solutions across departments such as Finance, Operations, Sales, and Human Resources to improve efficiency and reduce operational workload.
  • Applying AI techniques such as computer vision, large language models, and agentic AI workflows to enhance automation and data understanding.
  • Deploying, monitoring, and evaluating models in production environments to ensure accuracy and performance
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with organizational goals.
  • Visualizing and communicating data insights through dashboards, reports, and presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Documenting methodologies, workflows, and results to ensure reproducibility and compliance with internal data standards.
  • Maintaining awareness of data privacy and governance principles when working with sensitive or regulated data.
  • Staying current with emerging technologies in AI, automation, and data science.
