About The Position

The Associate Data Scientist position involves designing experiments to answer domain relevant questions and executing domain specific analytic techniques. The role requires identifying and utilizing scientific data tools to support research efforts, analyzing data using established statistical methods, and delivering accurate, actionable, and timely results. The candidate will also be responsible for using and improving established data sources, researching alternative data sources when needed, and understanding how additional data sources improve integrity, analysis, and modeling. The position emphasizes following SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles, and includes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in a STEM field.
  • 2+ years relevant work experience.
  • Familiar with the scientific method.
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL.
  • Negative drug test result(s).

Nice To Haves

  • M.S. degree in Math, Statistics, or Social Sciences with an emphasis on research, or related field.
  • Experience with data analysis tools.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming, Python, C#, C++, Matlab or Java.
  • Experience applying statistical skills in manufacturing, electronics design or business.
