About The Position

As an Associate Data Engineer in XiFin’s Career Development Program you will be part of a team of dynamic professionals reporting directly to the Sr. Data Engineer. In your day-to-day, you’ll play a critical part in developing, testing, and supporting data pipelines and transformations, specifically within intricate healthcare and financial domains. You will not only collaborate with various departments but also play a pivotal role in extracting innovative insights from vast datasets. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team that values continuous learning, mentorship, and operational excellence. This position will be located at our office in San Diego, CA.

Requirements

• Must have obtained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical field, by or within the 6 months preceding the start date of June 2026
• Located in the greater San Diego area
• Demonstrated knowledge of Python, Java, and SQL

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with various teams to architect and deliver robust data solutions.
• Extract valuable insights from complex datasets to drive business decisions.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines, transformations as well as ML webservices, especially for intricate healthcare and financial datasets.
• Engineer and support high-quality ETL or ELT data pipelines using tools like Talend, Python, Java, SQL, and/or SAP DI or any other cloud data services.
• Integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring it's cleaned, standardized, and seamlessly loaded into both OLTP systems and data warehouses.
• Proactively identify, diagnose, and rectify any issues within production pipelines and integration tasks.
• Engage closely with reporting, analytics team members, as part of machine learning team to understand requirements, assist in testing, and address any operational challenges.
