Position Summary The Associate Data Engineer supports enterprise data initiatives for bigdata projects at CVS Health by ensuring the quality, reliability, security, and maintainability of cloud‑based data solutions built on Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery). This role combines functional testing, stakeholder support, application monitoring, and hands‑on software modification to deliver stable and high‑quality data products. The Associate Data Engineer collaborates closely with data engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to validate data changes, support end‑to‑end (E2E) use cases, and implement code modifications aligned with project requirements and engineering best practices. Monitor application security findings using Snyk, identify potential vulnerabilities, and coordinate with responsible teams to drive remediation and resolution. Perform functional testing and data validation for CRDW projects involving Snowflake and GCP/BigQuery, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications. Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to obtain and review requirements for newly created or modified tables and datasets. Develop and execute test plans to confirm that data changes meet project expectations and that data is received, processed, and stored correctly across pipelines. Provide end‑to‑end (E2E) support to internal stakeholders by assisting with SQL queries, data loads, and troubleshooting data‑related issues. Validate data flows and transformations across cloud environments to ensure reliable ingestion and downstream availability.

Requirements

  • Experience in data engineering, including ETL pipeline development, data cleansing, and database migration within cloud-based environments
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms, including Snowflake, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery)
  • Proficiency in SQL with experience working with enterprise data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, and Teradata
  • Experience with ETL and orchestration tools, including Control‑M, and related cloud services
  • Strong background in software and data testing, including test planning, validation, defect tracking, and troubleshooting using tools such as JIRA, and Confluence - 3 years
  • Experience with data quality validation and application security monitoring, including familiarity with tools such as Snyk
  • Programming experience using Python and/or R for data analysis, validation, automation, or scripting
  • Experience supporting analytics and business intelligence use cases using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Excel
  • Knowledge of Retail Pharmacy systems and pharmacy‑related data domains, including patient, prescriber, prescriptions, and downstream analytics
  • Prior experience working with CVS Pharmacy Retail Big Data Warehouses, including CRDW and RxDW
