About The Position

When people use Google products, the servers in our data centers do the work--around the clock and around the world. For over ten years we've been building some the world's most efficient these data centers. As part of the data center team, you will operate, monitor, and support facility activities at Google's data centers. You ensure that problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services and preventive maintenance, and that safety measures are being performed. You bring the ideas of our Data Center Engineers to life and develop creative approaches to improve efficiencies and reduce operational costs. In this role, you will train alongside experienced technicians and may regularly help inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components. You will learn Google systems and tools in order to create a solid technical foundation. You will grow your mission critical and maintenance skills to grow into trade with journey level experience and knowledge. The AI and Infrastructure team is redefining what’s possible. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an Associate's degree, trade school certification, or related training program certification in a relevant technical field (e.g., CMCO, SMT, etc.).
  • Experience in Mechanical/Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC), or electrical.
  • Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment, the required use of OSHA standard safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses.
  • Must have the ability to work non-standard hours as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at Apprenticeship or Technician level in a critical environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on-call.
  • Ability to perform repetitive technical and manual work.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to operations, maintenance, and repairs of non-production facilities systems.
  • Assist executive technicians (e.g., assess a systems working order or read blueprints/schematics).
  • Follow approved procedures and acquire knowledge of procedural development processes.
  • Assist in the resolution of tickets and work orders.
  • Acquire knowledge of work order and ticket workflow.
  • Complete all assigned training as scheduled.
