We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our organization as an Associate Data Center Engineer- Trainee. This is an entry-level opportunity for candidates looking to build a career in mainframe technologies, regardless of prior experience with the platform. As a trainee, you will participate in a comprehensive, IBM-led training program designed to equip you with foundational knowledge and hands-on skills in mainframe operating systems and environments.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred—but not required.
  • Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Strong willingness to learn new and complex concepts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in IBM-sponsored mainframe training and certification modules, focusing on fundamentals of mainframe operating systems, including z/OS.
  • Learn to perform basic operational and support tasks on the mainframe under the supervision of experienced team members.
  • Assist in monitoring system performance, processing jobs, and supporting users’ mainframe activities.
  • Document issues and resolutions, and escalate problems to senior team members as needed.
  • Develop problem-solving and troubleshooting skills related to mainframe technology.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to understand the integration between mainframe and distributed systems.
  • Adhere to company policies, security standards, and best practices during on-the-job training.
  • Demonstrate progress and proficiency through periodic assessments and on-the-job evaluations.
