About The Position

BlueSkyRisk is seeking an early-career Associate Data & Analytics Engineer to support the continued buildout of our data infrastructure and analytics environment. This role is ideal for someone with 2–3 years of experience, including internships, who has a strong foundation in data, analytics, and business intelligence tools and wants to grow into a broader engineering and platform ownership role over time. This person will wear multiple hats, with primary responsibilities including supporting data pipelines, aggregating and cleaning data, assisting with data migration efforts, building dashboards, and contributing to routine and ad hoc analytics projects. The ideal candidate has exposure to Power BI, SQL, Python, and cloud-based data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, and is excited to help BlueSkyRisk continue building a scalable analytics foundation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related STEM field preferred, such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar discipline
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience, including internships and/or co-ops
  • Experience working with data pipelines, reporting workflows, or analytics dashboard
  • Experience with Power BI or similar dashboarding and data visualization tools
  • Familiarity with Python or a similar language for data analysis or transformation
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar environments
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
  • Ability to work across teams, gather requirements, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and interest in growing into deeper ownership of the platform over time
  • Familiarity with database design, schema structure, and ETL/ELT concepts
  • Experience with data cleaning, data validation, and transformation workflows
  • Exposure to statistical analysis, predictive analytics, or machine learning concepts
  • Interest in AI-enabled analytics and forward-looking data tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work across a broad set of data and analytics needs

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows used to aggregate data from multiple systems
  • Assist with data migration, transformation, and validation efforts as BlueSkyRisk expands its modern data environment
  • Clean, structure, and prepare data for reporting, analytics, and operational use
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI and other BI tools to support business needs
  • Partner with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements and translate requests into useful analytics tools, reports, and dashboards
  • Help implement data quality checks and validation processes to improve accuracy, consistency, and reliability
  • Support the design and organization of datasets, schemas, and reporting structures for analytics use
  • Contribute to routine reporting as well as ad hoc data analysis projects
  • Stay informed on emerging capabilities in Microsoft Fabric, cloud data platforms, and AI-enabled analytics tools
  • Document processes, logic, definitions, and technical workflows to improve scalability and team knowledge sharing
