About The Position

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a professional, process-oriented individual, with a passion for turning data into actionable insights. As an Associate Data Analyst, you will serve as a partner and advisor to process owners by building reports and visualizations that help analyze metrics to make data driven business decisions. You will also collaborate closely with Software Engineers on the application and data teams. In this challenging and fulfilling role, we are looking for candidates who value collaboration, understand best practices and the data maturity model, and possess excellent communication and time management skills.

Requirements

  • BS degree related to Data Analytics, Statistics, Math, Software Engineering, or related experience
  • Strong knowledge of PowerBI, MS Report Builder, MS Excel, and MS Access
  • Familiarity with SQL, DAX, or related languages
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and business processes/systems
  • Strong analytical, judgment, organizational, and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively in a team environment
  • Desire to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing data and creating charts, dashboards, and reports
  • Supporting department efforts to document and improve current reports and data sources
  • Applying statistical methods and models to data sets to generate actionable data driven recommendations
  • Partnering with process owners to develop ways to capture quality data at the source
