Credit Intermediation and Related Activities

Responsible for gathering and analyzing information for defining requirements, specifications, and designs to support the development of new or existing security solutions, solving basic problems or enhancements. Completes day-to-day support activities and special projects.

  • Design of specific components or modules within security systems, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity desired outcomes.
  • Assist in basic configuration tasks such as defining system properties, workflows, and options to ensure systems align with outlined system objectives.
  • Test systems and tools with predefined cases, and share results of tests with more senior engineers to determine appropriate actions to take.
  • Deploy basic security configurations and document results, following predefined procedures.
  • Implement system tuning and refinements to security systems following predefined guidelines and procedures.
  • Automate tasks within security systems, following predefined procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with Cybersecurity team, actively contributing to productive conversations and execution of Cybersecurity priorities.
  • Suggest ideas to improve security solutions and regularly participate in training to develop security skills and knowledge.
  • Communicate with vendors by collecting and providing relevant data to contribute to troubleshooting processes.
  • Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
  • Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
  • Associates degree and a minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or work experience.
  • Basic understanding of the security system development and infrastructure lifecycle, and systems design.
  • General understanding of tools utilized in assigned Cybersecurity function.
  • Ability to breakdown architecture into technical requirements.
  • Basic level of critical thinking and solving problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to function professionally with all levels of employees and business partners across the organization.
  • Ability to draw conclusions based on pattern recognition and relationships amongst variables in datasets.
