About The Position

Acts as a competent contributor for the implementation, management, monitoring, and upgrading of security measures and risk processes for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks. Is an operational resource for routine, well-documented, projects and partners with others to assist with completion. Provides troubleshooting for routine security, operational, risk, and process problems.

Requirements

  • Ability to use critical thinking to develop solutions to problems.
  • Interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate information to peers in the Cybersecurity Organization.
  • Ability to use pre-built scripts to achieve pre-defined outcomes.
  • Academic understanding of a technical discipline.
  • Academic understanding of at least 1 of the cybersecurity domains: Security & Risk Management, Asset Security, Security Engineering, Communications & Network Security, Identity & Access Management, Security Assessment & Testing, Security Operations, Software Development Security.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts, ask questions proactively, and persevere through the learning curve with support from mentors.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a competent contributor for the implementation, management, monitoring, and upgrading of security measures and risk processes for the protection of the organization's data, systems, and networks.
  • Stay up to date on emerging security and technology trends; assist with the evaluation and communication of their feasibility for UKHS to Cybersecurity leadership.
  • Act as an operational resource for routine, well-documented, projects and partner with others to assist with completion.
  • Develop rough drafts of technical documentation, graphs, and flowcharts to effectively communicate technical information with guidance from Senior or Principal level engineers.
  • Identify internal challenges or issues; recommend process, product or service improvements to address.
  • Provide troubleshooting for routine security, operational, risk, and process problems.
  • Respond to all security events as required.
  • Participate actively in the change management process, providing technical representation for the Cybersecurity organization with guidance and support from Senior and Principal level Engineers.
  • Daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with the relevant peers in the organization.
  • Successfully receive, digest, and understand technical or risk concepts presented by peers and working groups; ask questions and present ideas for feedback as appropriate.
  • Receives technical mentorship and guidance from all level of positions within the Cybersecurity organization.
  • Assist in the development of presentations to the Director-Level.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
