Role reports to: Sr Sales Director Location: North America, United States, New Jersey, Summit Work Location: Hybrid What you will do The Associate Customer Development Manager – Convenience & New Business Development is responsible for identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, building relationships with potential retailers, and developing and executing business plans. Additionally, this role will oversee relationships with re-packers within the Convenience channel.

  • Strategic Ownership: Demonstrate a self-starter mindset by developing and executing a comprehensive new business development strategy. Take full ownership of vision and implementation upon approval, and thrive in whitespace environments.
  • Influencing and Relationship Building: Engage in high-level discussions with senior leadership and C-suite executives at unique retail partners (e.g., Olive Young, Nordstrom, Kohl’s, and beauty-focused retailers). Identify and articulate mutually beneficial partnership opportunities.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Lead negotiations on product assortment, retail space allocation, and investment commitments while managing tight timelines. Exhibit agility and adaptability throughout the process.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with internal teams, including Marketing, Customer Strategy, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance, and Brand Protection, to ensure seamless execution of initiatives.
  • Financial Acumen: Develop accurate sales forecasts and manage trade budgets to support business objectives.
  • Analytical Skills: Leverage data from sources such as SPIN reports and shipment reports to analyze sales trends, identify growth opportunities, and provide actionable insights.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of overall business experience.
  • At least 3 years of prior experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Previous experience in direct customer sales, business analytics, category management, and/or shopper marketing.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver persuasive, insight-driven presentations to gain support for business strategies and initiatives.
  • Proficiency in computer technology, analytical tools, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
