You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed. This position requires a minimum of four days per week in the Boston office, excluding time spent traveling for business. HarbourVest Partners is looking to fill an Associate role on the Private Credit investment team in Boston. We are looking for someone who has deep technical skills and is eager to learn and develop in a fast-paced deal environment. The main duties involve analyzing investments, managing the investment process and due diligence, and ongoing portfolio management. The Private Credit business has a flexible investment mandate across senior debt, junior debt, and equity co-invest to sponsor-backed middle-market companies. The ideal candidate is someone who is: Analytical, has excellent judgment and strong attention to detail Capable of clear written and verbal communication Driven by intellectual curiosity and willingness to conduct diligence on various businesses and industries A self-starter and highly collaborative who desires to grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Demonstrates professional maturity when interacting with senior team members and external counterparties

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Support and guide the underwriting process and company due diligence, including both primary and secondary research
  • Prepare financial analysis, models, and investment committee memos/presentations
  • Assist in the legal negotiation and closing process for new investments
  • Continuously monitor portfolio companies and assist in quarterly portfolio valuations and semi-annual portfolio reviews
  • Provide support on ad-hoc requests related to client service, fundraising, or marketing as needed
