About The Position

We use customer data and analytics to help us understand and improve our customers' experiences, drive customer retention and encourage brand loyalty. Our team is diverse, with skillsets and responsibilities ranging from graphic design, content creation and performance marketing to internal communications and loyalty & rewards programs. We work together to provide expertise and guidance, so that the Staples brand is well represented in all areas. The Associate Creative Director - Copy is responsible for creating innovative new ideas and writing compelling, original content and copy for a variety of digital, video, social and print-based assets. This position works very closely with the Creative Director, project management team and art directors/graphic designers. The role also includes evaluating ideas written by other copywriters and contributors and editing and proofreading content.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional-level experience
  • 3+ years of management experience leading creative teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep expertise in Omni/ Business communications and a strong grasp of marketing engagement and customer experience strategies.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing best practices in both B2C and B2B fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in executing social-first creative and knowledge of social media best practices.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Workfront, and creative applications.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and clarity.

Responsibilities

  • Create innovative, compelling content and copy for digital, video, social and print-based assets, helping to define and evolve the Staples brand tone and style for key customer segments and business needs.
  • Work closely with the Creative Director on top-priority projects to guide creative messaging and ensure on-brief communications.
  • Edit, proofread, and evaluate content from junior copywriters and other contributors to uphold the highest standards of quality.
  • Assist in implementing best SEO practices.
  • Present creative work and rationale directly to clients and stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of direct-report copywriters and freelance resources, providing coaching, development, and resource scheduling to drive results.
