About The Position

The Associate Creative Director, Video is a senior creative leader responsible for the ownership of video creative across campaigns, programs, and accounts. This role combines high-level concepting and hands-on oversight of production with leadership, mentorship, and strategic collaboration, with a strong emphasis on scalable, high-quality video storytelling. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in concepting video for complex, highly regulated industries, and can translate business and audience insights into emotionally resonant, consumer-friendly stories. The ideal candidate is never content with simple talking-head videos, and instead is constantly seeking fresh, creative new ways to bring brands and brand stories to life, in formats from short-form social-first videos to CTV to long-form and beyond.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Film, Media Arts, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of experience in a video- or art-focused creative role within a fast-paced agency or in-house environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading video-heavy creative work for large-scale brands or enterprise-level clients.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of audience needs across channels and platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high creative standards.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard tools including Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, PowerPoint, and related video and motion tools.
  • Familiarity with asset management systems and scalable content production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling, video-first narrative frameworks and treatments that translate complex topics into clear, emotionally engaging stories.
  • Lead creative execution for video across formats including long-form, short-form, social, broadcast, and digital.
  • Ensure storytelling consistency and quality across all video deliverables within a campaign or account.
  • Contribute to concept development while also guiding teams through execution and refinement.
  • Support the development and execution of modular, adaptable video content systems that scale across audiences, channels, and markets.
  • Apply repeatable storytelling frameworks, templates, and production models to support efficient, high-volume video output.
  • Partner with production, motion, and content teams to maintain quality while meeting speed and scale requirements.
  • Lead concepts that scale according to budget and schedule, from lean two-person shoots to full-scale productions.
  • Experience developing creative within regulated industries such as financial services, fintech, insurance, or adjacent categories.
  • Working knowledge of compliance, regulatory, and brand-safety considerations and how they impact video storytelling.
  • Ability to ensure all creative adheres to brand guidelines while still pushing for strong, differentiated work.
  • Manage and mentor Senior Art Directors and video-focused creatives, providing clear, constructive feedback.
  • Lead ideation and brainstorming sessions with cross-disciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate closely with account, strategy, media, production, and client partners to align creative output with business objectives.
  • Present creative work internally and externally, articulating both the creative idea and the strategic rationale behind it.
  • Serve as proxy for the Creative Director in select internal and client meetings when needed.
  • Translate strategic insights, customer data, and business objectives into effective video-led creative solutions.
  • Clearly articulate the “strategic why” behind creative decisions and how the work meets defined goals and KPIs.
  • Balance creative ambition with practical execution, timelines, and budget considerations.
  • Oversee the day-to-day production of video and integrated creative work across multiple initiatives.
  • Partner with Project Management to inform creative hour estimates, timelines, and prioritization.
  • Help optimize creative workflows and production processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Coordinate with Creative Resourcing to support balanced workloads and cross-pollination of talent.
  • Working knowledge of modern video production tools and workflows, including motion design, post-production, and emerging technologies.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled content creation, automation workflows, and evolving production methods.
  • Comfortable evaluating and adopting new tools that improve storytelling quality or production efficiency.
