The Verbal team at Monigle is a small, agile group of writers who combine strategic thinking with outstanding creative chops. We help brands find their voice, start conversations, and tell their stories to the world. We are looking for an Associate Creative Director-level Brand Communications Writer to join us: a talented writer who is passionate about helping brands discover their voice. By putting words to work, this person will help to solve complex business and brand challenges in unexpected ways and turn brand strategy into brand experience. A person in the ACD role is focused on developing leadership skills and beginning to apply them to lead projects, manage internal teams, and some client relationships. The ACD helps shape creative vision across smaller-scale living brand systems, ensures excellence in execution, and elevates strategic expression. They are part creator, mentor, influencer, and trusted collaborator, bridging creative thinking with client objectives through strong communication.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional writing experience in a creative team environment brand, creative or media agency experience a plus
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills with experience producing content for a variety of touch points: internal/external communications, promo materials, activations, web copy, social media, and other digital outlets
- Strong passion for storytelling and how to bring stories to life
- Self-starter adept at picking up and leading projects, ability to manage timelines, and work independently
- A team player who understands that work is strengthened by working well with others
- A solid understanding of the basic rules of composition and grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Excited by the opportunity to help shape the direction for a small but growing team
- Passionate about building a career in the branding space
- An overall positive and upbeat approach to work and life
Responsibilities
- Play an active role in leading the growth of our unique, fast-moving team
- Lead both short and long-lead Verbal projects, including the creation and development of brand voice, messaging, content, creative workshops, client training and more
- Put strategic thinking into action by bridging strategy and creative to craft verbal identities that break the mold with compelling writing that creates connections for a variety of clients and audiences
- Actively collaborate with team members across Monigle to infuse all projects with expert language, share your writing and linguistic expertise with colleagues through education, and empower them to push their own writing
- Actively engage in our culture of collaboration and feedback, and contribute to the overall Monigle experience
