Requirements

Education: A Juris Doctor or LL.M degree
NY Bar
Experience: At least 5+ years of experience with background in public contracting strongly preferred
Prior experience directly advising clients on complex matters.
Solid experience in balancing business needs and risk
Fluency in Lexis, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint and proficiency in MS Excel (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Analytical skills and ability to develop reasoning independently.
Brilliant writing skills - ability to craft compelling and persuasive narratives and draft favorable agreements without legalese.

Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands and adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
A friendly and professional manner that engenders trust.

Responsibilities

Draft and negotiate a wide range of construction and commercial contracts
Develop strategies for resolving disputes and claims and supervise outside counsel on litigation
Represent OHLA in mediations and attend arbitrations as client representative
Draft corporate documents, joint venture, and partnership agreements
In conjunction with legal department, advise senior-level executives on legal, operational, compliance and regulatory risk and corporate governance matters
Develop deep relationships with our construction project teams and key business partners
Develop and implement strategies across the organization to improve our legal processes and reduce risk
Tour our projects throughout the region and assist project staff as necessary
