About The Position

Eskenazi Health serves as the public hospital division of the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County. Eskenazi Health is seeking an Associate Counsel to join our collaborative legal team. In this role, you’ll provide strategic legal guidance on a wide range of matters, including hospital operations, patient care issues, physician contracting, compliance, and business transactions. You’ll also play a key role in supporting our Medical Legal Partnership (MLP) and other community-focused initiatives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the State of Indiana.
• Relevant experience in healthcare law and contracting; knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as Medicare, Medicaid, Stark, Anti-Kickback, EMTALA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical, solution-oriented legal advice on healthcare operations, compliance, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and analyze contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Represent Eskenazi Health in internal committees and workgroups, providing expert legal counsel.
• Support litigation and employment matters as needed.
• Partner with leadership to develop strategies that align with Eskenazi Health’s mission and values.
• Contribute to community programs through the Medical Legal Partnership, including training sessions and outreach initiatives.
• Monitor changes in healthcare law and regulations, ensuring Eskenazi Health remains compliant and proactive.
