Requirements

Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited college of law required.
Must be licensed in the state of Illinois.
Minimum 1-2 years of legal experience.
Legal research and writing on medical malpractice law matters.
Excellent business judgment, attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work both independently/autonomously and as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization’s legal department and across all business units.
Ability to generate ideas and solutions cross functionally within the organization.
Work effectively with team members to accomplish objectives and goals.
Ability to devise creative practical solutions to difficult legal issues.
Strong analytical capability combined with superior strategic thinking.

Nice To Haves

Extensive experience in the Courtroom desired.

Responsibilities

Day to day workup of medical legal matters on behalf of physicians and organization.
Assist in Court appearances for case management conferences, motion practice and trial.
Prepare motions to dismiss, dispositive motions and other legal briefs in support of client.
Manage discovery written and oral, including depositions.
Trial work, including motion in limine practice, voire dire, opening statements, questioning witnesses and closing statements.
