Come join us at ChristianaCare! We are searching for an Associate Counsel to assist the General Counsel and support senior-level attorneys in all functions of the Legal/Risk Management Department. This position will be part of the team that is responsible for providing legal advice and support to ChristianaCarey This Opportunity is Unique As an Associate Counsel at Christiana Care, you will have the outstanding opportunity to work within a highly respected health care system recognized for its exceptional patient care and innovative practices. This role allows you to collaborate closely with senior-level attorneys and the General Counsel, gaining invaluable experience in critical legal areas.

Requirements

  • Law degree from an accredited university.
  • A minimum of 5 years of health care legal experience preferred, with a strong focus on advising hospitals or health care systems.
  • Familiarity with patient care, clinical matters, and various health care regulations.
  • Knowledge of contracting principles and techniques.
  • Ability to independently plan, prioritize, and coordinate administrative programs and projects.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to effect process change to achieve efficient outcomes.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information, materials, and files.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage various responsibilities under time pressure.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and contract tracking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently and collaboratively with other professionals and departments on complex legal matters.
  • Provide legal advice and support to ChristianaCare in a variety of areas for the purpose of clinical, strategic, and business operations:
  • Assist in the preparation, review, and negotiation of documents for complex transactions including agreements related to clinical research, procurement, information technology, managed care, employment arrangements, and other business relationships.
  • Prepare and review internal policies, procedures, and other operating documents.
  • Provide litigation support to Risk Management, management, employees, and outside counsel for medical malpractice and other legal claims.
  • Perform other duties as required.
