About The Position

MSC Cruises, the world’s third-largest cruise line brand, is expanding its operations and seeking a highly skilled corporate counsel to join our dynamic legal team. Reporting to the Corporate Counsel, the Associate Counsel will collaborate with in-house counsel in managing a wide range of pre-litigation and litigation matters impacting the company, including personal injury, commercial disputes, regulatory actions, and employment-related claims. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal business units, outside counsel, and third-party service providers to ensure efficient and effective case management. This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth business environment. This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days per week in the office, in Miami.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in federal court litigation
  • Admission to the Florida Bar
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures in federal and state courts.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management systems.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple, concurrent matters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and interact effectively with internal teams and external counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Join in-house attorneys in dealing with all aspects of litigation, including case intake, document collection, case management, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Maintain litigation calendars, track critical deadlines, and ensure timely filings and responses.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel to support discovery, case strategy, and internal reporting requirements.
  • Analyze internal documents, incident reports, correspondence, and other relevant materials and compare documents provided by outside counsel to determine claim management strategy.
  • Assist with subpoena responses, regulatory inquiries, and records requests.
  • Draft and edit litigation-related documents, including legal correspondence, summaries, and status updates.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, including review of case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files, databases, and document management systems.
  • Support internal investigations and audits as needed.
  • Track litigation spend and assist with budgeting and accruals related to ongoing matters.
  • Attend mediations as MSC’s corporate representative.
