About The Position

Join Walmart’s Legal Contracts Center of Expertise to help scale a consistent, efficient, and risk-aware approach to contracting across the enterprise. In this role, you will partner with various legal, procurement, and business stakeholders to review and negotiate a broad scope of contractual agreements as well as working to standardize templates and playbooks. You’ll drive operational excellence by supporting commercial transaction contracting to reduce cycle times, improve quality, and enable teams to contract faster while protecting Walmart’s interests. Requirements

Demonstrated excellence drafting complex commercial transactions in a retail context
Experience working on cross-functional teams to move projects forward by gaining support needed
A proven track record of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrated bias towards action and innovation
Law degree from an accredited law school and 2 years’ experience in law.
License to practice law in at least one state.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent legal advice and counsel to a broad assortment of clients on a variety of topics with a particular emphasis on complex commercial transactions
Draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts
Bring structure, uniformity and efficiency to the legal department’s transaction work
Develop best practices and procedures that will mitigate the company’s risk
Develop contract governance including playbooks and training material
Identify the need for legal support for business transactions and projects
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
