About The Position

Condé Nast Traveler is seeking an Associate Commerce Editor to support affiliate-driven editorial content across booking and retail categories. This role primarily involves optimizing and editing syndications from Traveler’s international editions (UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, Middle East, and India). The Associate Commerce Editor will collaborate with CNT’s Commerce Director, a team of writers and editors, and freelancers, editing stories daily. A key aspect of the role is the ongoing analysis of reader purchasing data and search trends to achieve growth goals. The position also includes assisting with general story edits and offers the opportunity to pitch retail and/or booking story ideas. The ideal candidate should have at least 2-3 years of full-time editing experience, a strong understanding of the e-commerce landscape, and the ability to work across various product categories, including travel goods, hotels, and rentals, with an awareness of travel trends and sensitivities. This is a Guild position.

Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a full-time editor
  • Deep knowledge of the e-commerce landscape
  • Agility to work across a variety of product categories—including travel goods, hotels, rentals, and beyond—with an eye for travel trends and sensitivities
  • 3+ years experience editing in a digital media environment
  • Experience in service journalism
  • Strong background working closely and collaboratively with editorial, advertising, engineering, video, and design teams
  • Comfortability analyzing data
  • Strong organizational skills, self-directed work style, and polished communication skills
  • Passion for travel and interest in current affairs

Responsibilities

  • Edit and optimize syndications for hotel roundups and reviews, rental roundups, and shopping guides
  • Assist with assigning and story editing sponsored editorial content
  • Coordinate with SEO managers and commerce resources to ensure all content is optimized for search
  • Work with CNT’s international markets to align coverage timing
  • Work with other stakeholders on CNT’s commerce team to achieve editorial excellence across platforms, including cntraveler.com, social, newsletter, and video, with a focus on voice, authority, and service
  • Coordinate with Traveler’s audience development team on content distribution and identify opportunities for growth based on data and industry trends
  • Perform additional duties as required, or as assigned by manager
