About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE: The Nurse Leader (NL) is a licensed registered nurse (RN) accountable for leading, managing and advancing people, processes and / or programs that support direct or indirect patient care. The NL promotes and advocates for patients, nurses / colleagues and the practice of nursing as defined by clinical area (s) of expertise and assignment. Requirements

  • Advanced degree is required: e.g. MSN (Master of Science in Nursing), MHA (Master of Health Administration), or MBA (Master of Business Administration), with at least one degree, either undergraduate or graduate, in nursing.
  • Current Iowa RN license or the ability to obtain, (current IL license if working in IL) is required.
  • Progressive leadership experience is required.
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of clinical nursing experience is required.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter for both Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training is required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Executive or specialty practice certification is required within two (2) years of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or other terminal degree (e.g. EDD, PhD, DrPH) is preferred.
