About The Position
The Associate, Claims Representative position within the Complex Claims Unit at The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. is a vital role that focuses on managing routine claims in a fast-paced, high-production environment. This position is under general supervision and is responsible for obtaining and maintaining essential information related to claims. The role emphasizes customer service and accuracy, ensuring that all claims are handled efficiently and effectively. As part of the team, you will be expected to develop proficiency in your responsibilities during the new hire ramp-up period, which includes completing a multi-week training course and obtaining a State Adjuster's License to process Property & Casualty Insurance Claims. In this role, you will secure essential facts about losses, negotiate settlements, and interpret coverage for policyholders. You will also be responsible for updating and moving files to closure, managing pending claims to meet company quality criteria, and ensuring timely processing of payments. The position may involve special assignments or projects, and you may be required to assist in catastrophe situations. A strong customer service focus is essential, as you will be interacting with policyholders and addressing their needs throughout the claims process.
