About The Position
The Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Associate Civil Engineer or Assistant Engineer for Public Works Construction within the Engineering Division. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and be registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California or have an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate with the willingness to obtain a PE license. Knowledge and experience with following is desirable: Capital project delivery, Civil engineering and construction practices of transportation, municipal and land development projects, Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software, Experience as a resident engineer/project manager for public works construction projects including but not limited to; all underground utility projects, roadway replacement projects, sidewalks, ADA enhancement projects, crosswalks, traffic signal replacements, bridge replacements, treatment plants, pedestrian/bikeway enhancement projects and city parks projects.
