About The Position

The Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital plays a pivotal role in ensuring the highest level of medical care is provided by the medical staff. Reporting directly to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the ACMO is responsible for the direction, planning, and coordination of all physician-related activities. This position is integral to the hospital's leadership team, contributing to the development and implementation of standards for medical services, patient care, education, and research. The ACMO will work closely with the Medical Staff Executive Committee and department chairpersons to provide professional support and ensure effective communication across the medical staff and hospital administration. In this role, the ACMO will review and measure patient care effectiveness, lead improvement activities, and assist in the development of annual capital and operating budgets. The ACMO will also serve as a member of the senior administrative leadership body, providing updates and reports on the medical staff's overall state to hospital executives and the Board of Trustees. The position requires active participation in various committees and task forces, ensuring compliance with medical staff bylaws and external regulatory agencies. The ACMO will play a key role in the recruitment and orientation of new medical staff members, promoting positive relations between the medical staff and hospital administration. This includes representing the medical staff's interests and fostering a collaborative environment that supports the hospital's strategic goals. The ACMO will also maintain relationships with local, state, and national healthcare organizations to achieve the hospital's objectives in patient care, medical education, and research. Overall, the ACMO is expected to be a leader in driving quality improvement and ensuring the hospital meets its mission of providing exceptional healthcare services.
