Job Overview The Associate Chief Medical Officer (AHN) serves as the medical lead for the Medicare line of business, providing strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and infrastructure development to advance AltaMed Health Network's mission and vision. This role drives value-based, patient-centered care by developing innovative strategies, policies, and processes, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include supporting the organization in obtaining its Medicare Restricted Knox Keene license, leading medical services functions, building strong relationships with hospitals, providers, and delegated groups, and monitoring population health, provider performance, and member satisfaction to improve quality outcomes and cost-effectiveness across the AHN delivery system continuum.

Requirements

  • A medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Board certification in a clinical specialty is required.
  • A physician with an active unrestricted CA license to practice medicine by the Medical Board of California is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of IPA and/or Health Plan experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of managed Medicare experience required.
  • A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
