This role provides spiritual counseling, support and care in line with beliefs and desires of patients, family members and interdisciplinary team members in times of spiritual distress or crisis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in theology, spirituality, pastoral ministry or equivalent subject matter accredited from a US Department of Education Approved Organization: Required
• Ecclesiastical endorsement from the chaplain’s respective denomination or faith tradition: Required

Nice To Haves

• Master of Divinity degree accredited from a US Department of Education Approved Organization: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides pastoral care services on an on-call basis for patients in various situations, such as those undergoing surgical procedures, facing end-of-life issues and following traumatic accidents.
• Provides comfort and support for patient family members and friends.
• Responds to requests for pastoral care in a timely manner.
• Ensures the religious and spiritual needs of patients and their loved ones are met.
• Acts as a spiritual resource for staff.
• Accountable to the organizational mission, core vision and values.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
