About The Position
Reporting to the Vice President of Global RPC Materials Category Management, the Associate Category Manager leads or supports corporate supply management efforts for their assigned spend pools. This position is responsible to ensure the business units have goods and services to operate at the most competitive cost. In this role he/she directly affects Sonoco cost structure and has a strong impact on profit and loss through the development of cost reduction, process improvement, and productivity projects. Aligned with business unit needs, he/she will identify, develop, and execute category strategies across their assigned area to ensure customers are supported at best value for Sonoco. This position leads or supports corporate efforts in the identification and implementation of best practices, processes and innovation, resulting in Sonoco having the best competitive position, while maintaining supply security and advantaged pricing. The results of this position are measured by annual year over year productivity, inflation / deflation movement in regards to the market, and working capital improvements in their assigned spend areas.
