About The Position

The Associate Campus Director (AsCD) at Yokosuka Naval Base supports overall campus operations, including student recruitment, advising, retention, marketing, and public relations. This role serves as a key representative of the University within the military community, fostering relationships with students, Educational Services Officers (ESOs), training managers, and other stakeholders to promote academic programs and services. The AsCD operates with a high degree of independence under the supervision of the Campus Director and is responsible for maintaining strong student lifecycle support, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, and contributing to campus operational success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (field of study varies)
  • 3–5 years of related professional experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to engage military and civilian populations
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Occasional travel required (including Camp Fuji and annual events such as Advising Summit and Graduation)
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in a dynamic military installation environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in higher education administration, student advising, marketing, or counseling preferred
  • Military education or aviation-related experience a plus
  • Experience with recruitment, advising, or academic support strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead outreach, marketing, and public relations efforts for the Yokosuka Campus
  • Conduct student recruitment activities, including unit briefings and mobile office outreach
  • Advise students on academic programs, degree planning, and graduation requirements
  • Support student retention initiatives and monitor enrollment targets
  • Maintain regular in-person communication with prospective, current, and continuing students
  • Assist with scheduling, classroom readiness, and instructional support as needed
  • Ensure accurate completion of registration, records, and end-of-term processes
  • Support campus budget planning and day-to-day financial oversight
  • Maintain compliance with institutional policies, reporting requirements, and audit readiness
  • Serve as Acting Campus Director in the absence of the CD
  • Support campus operations, student services, and faculty coordination
