An Associate Metrology Technician is an individual who is responsible for measuring, inspecting and calibrating instruments, and gauges to ensure precision, performance, and accuracy. With a good understanding of metrology principles, associate technicians report on their findings and offer technical guidance and insights to maintain optimal measurement precision. Our ideal candidate has excellent problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Metrology, Engineering or relevant field preferred; certification in metrology is a plus, or 2 years of relevant experience within Metrology, Quality Control or similar roles within highly regulated environment
  • Knowledge of metrology principles and hand measurement tools
  • Experience with calibration procedures
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, 3D CAD models, technical manuals and diagrams
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T principles
  • Attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in all measurements and reports
  • Computer skills for using specialized software to control measurement systems and for documenting results
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with peers and to establish relationships across the organization and at various hierarchical levels

Responsibilities

  • Perform precise measurements using metrology equipment, blueprints, gauges and overlay drawings
  • Ensure all measurement tools and equipment are calibrated correctly
  • Prepare, upload and store Device History Records (DHRs)
  • Document and report all measurement, calibration, and test results
  • Interact with vendors and customers
  • Receive, process and ship gauge orders
  • Provide certificates of calibration based on an acceptable quality level of pre-inspected gauges to approve their use in-house, or for suppliers
  • Analyze and interpret measurement data
  • Identify and solve any problems that may affect the accuracy of measurements
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards and procedures
  • Adhere to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
  • Ensure compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally
  • Represent the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties
