About The Position

Keep our communities fed. As an Associate Buyer you are responsible for attaining and maintaining agreed upon service levels by customers while adhering to budgeted inventory levels. Additionally, you engage with customers on service levels and partners with vendors to successfully manage all aspects of product flow.

Requirements

Strong statistical understanding, along with excellent interpretation and analytical skills
Professional verbal and written communication abilities
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively
0-2 years of relevant experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsibilities

Procuring products from both branded and non-branded vendors.
Ensuring targeted customer service levels are achieved and maintained by actively monitoring, identifying, and addressing potential issues, and communicating solutions effectively.
Negotiating with vendors and customers to optimize product flow, manage inventory levels, and address concerns related to close-coded, expired, and unproductive inventory.
Managing budgeted inventory levels by leveraging system tools to analyze and respond to market trends.
Collaborating with team members to meet established goals and working directly with customers to communicate successes and resolve challenges.
Partnering with the merchandising team to introduce new items, maintain product offerings, and meet gross profit targets.
Supporting seasonal volume, storm recovery, service level recovery, managing absences, covering vacations, and facilitating additional training as needed
