About The Position
The Associate Buyer plays a crucial role in supporting the Buyer's overall business objectives, particularly in achieving sales and margin goals. This position involves close collaboration with the Buyer to develop and implement strategies for the assigned product category. The Associate Buyer is responsible for managing vendor relationships to maximize sales and enhance customer satisfaction. Key tasks include overseeing the item setup process, creating and maintaining purchase orders, and facilitating effective communication with vendors. Additionally, the Associate Buyer performs various administrative duties that support vendor and product selection, pricing, promotions, and guest management. In this role, the Associate Buyer will engage in identifying merchandise assortments and selecting products that align with the company's strategic goals. The position requires strong project management skills, as it involves close communication with vendors, photography teams, E-commerce, and TV merchant teams. The Associate Buyer serves as a vital resource for coordinating and executing product information across various departments, including Customer Service, Media Production, Marketing, and Legal. This role also entails supporting the inventory purchase order process through diligent data entry, maintenance, and tracking. The Associate Buyer will partner with Planning and cross-functional teams to ensure product availability across all ShopHQ mediums. They will identify and recommend new products or business opportunities, collaborating with various groups to ensure successful vendor assortment launches. Utilizing multiple reporting resources, the Associate Buyer will analyze existing style productivity and vendor performance, delivering actionable recommendations. Furthermore, they will analyze industry, competitor, and category trends to identify new product opportunities, contributing to the overall growth and success of the business.
