The Associate BI Analyst supports the design, delivery, and adoption of business intelligence and analytics that improve clinical outcomes, operational performance, and total cost of care in a Medicare Advantage / value-based care environment. This role combines technical analytics work with business curiosity and stakeholder support. The Associate BI Analyst helps turn data into dashboards, trackers, presentations, and decision support tools while building fluency in ChenMed’s clinical and operational model.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate analytical findings in a clear, structured manner through slides, visuals, and written summaries for business and clinical stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel and strong comfort with structured problem solving; able to work with large datasets, pivots, lookups, reconciliations, and charting.
  • Basic SQL querying skills; able to join tables, filter and aggregate data, investigate quality issues, and troubleshoot basic logic problems.
  • Basic to developing Power BI / dashboarding skills, including familiarity with measures, filters, and user-facing report design.
  • Strong business curiosity and communication skills; able to explain findings clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Interest in healthcare operations, population health, Medicare Advantage, provider risk, or value-based care.
  • Foundational AI literacy, including ability to use AI tools productively while checking outputs for correctness, bias, privacy, and business relevance.
  • Detail orientation, organization, and follow-through; able to manage multiple assignments and ask good clarifying questions.
  • Strong organizational discipline, including the ability to manage tasks, document work clearly, and follow established project processes.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel within the US up to 5% of the time.
  • This job requires the use and exercise of independent judgment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics, business, economics, public health, healthcare management, statistics, nursing, life sciences, information systems, engineering, or a related field required; Advanced degree is a plus; additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements where appropriate.
  • 1+ year of relevant experience preferred, including internships or analyst experience in healthcare analytics, business analytics, strategy, consulting, clinical informatics, research, or similar business-facing data work.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, Medicare Advantage, managed care, provider risk, or other value-based care environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Translates stakeholder questions into clear analytical requirements with support from more senior team members.
  • Builds and maintains recurring dashboards, scorecards, trackers, and reporting outputs using SQL, Power BI, Excel, and presentation tools.
  • Prepares clear, accurate draft summaries, exhibits, and presentation materials to support discussions with operational leaders, clinical leaders, and executive audiences.
  • Translates analyses into concise takeaways, visuals, and talking points that help stakeholders understand performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Performs descriptive analyses, basic trend reviews, data validation, and issue triage to support clinical, operational, network, and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Monitors assigned KPIs and datasets for anomalies, data quality concerns, and meaningful business changes; escalates findings with appropriate context.
  • Prepares charts, summaries, and presentation materials that clearly communicate what happened, why it matters, and where follow-up is needed.
  • Documents metric definitions, business rules, assumptions, data caveats, and analytical methods so work is reproducible and understandable.
  • Partners with analytics developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to support user acceptance testing, report enhancement, and adoption.
  • Escalates risks, data issues, and blockers in a timely manner and follows through on assigned actions.
  • Learns the fundamentals of Medicare Advantage, provider-risk/value-based care, panel performance, specialty and network analytics, and ChenMed operating concepts.
  • Adheres to defined use-cases of AI-enabled tools from leadership and does so responsibly for first drafts of SQL, documentation, summarization, and exploratory analysis, while validating accuracy, logic, and business appropriateness before use.
  • Supports end-user enablement by helping leaders, physicians, and team members understand how to use standard reports and tools.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.
