Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products. The Position Act as Finance Partner to relevant stakeholders based on designated process responsibility within the site's Finance team. Use available data & business knowledge to create insights, in order to help stakeholders make decisions & ensure financial control. Establish & sustain optimal planning, controlling & forecasting processes for designated areas at the site. Ensure solid financial deliverables from the site to relevant stakeholders. This role will be responsible for the facility’s investment project economy with sparring and financial guidance to the responsible project managers. Relationships Reports to Manager. Essential Functions Use process area knowledge & business insights to seek improvement opportunities & solve business challenges Proactively support central or local business cases & decision-making involving areas of process responsibility Ensure increase of financial understanding across the organization by offering training & participating in cross area processes, site visits, etc. Drive timely & solid delivery of formal submissions & ad-hoc requests within area of expertise Ensure that financial deliverables from the site are aligned to requirements from HQ Finance Safeguard that the site process areas meet financial targets by using continuous analysis, follow-up & suggesting corrective/preventive actions to production responsible, Directors & CVP Represent site in financial matters as needed, including central forums & work groups Areas of responsibility may include ensuring adherence to internal and external accounting guidelines to maintain financial compliance and integrity, managing project portfolios and assets including investment budgets and reviews, developing and enhancing business intelligence tools, overseeing manning and capacity costs through site-wide budgeting processes, and driving planning, forecasting, and financial controlling activities Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties Other accountabilities, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field of study from an accredited university required and a minimum of two (2) years of financial analytical and financial accounting experience required
  • In lieu of BS Degree & two (2) years of financial analytical and financial accounting experience, may consider an Associate Degree in Business, Finance, or related field of study from an accredited college or university with a minimum of four (4) years of financial analytical and financial accounting experience required
  • Able to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets required
  • Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA in finance, accounting, economics or related field preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, maintenance or process with a preference toward pharmaceutical or other regulated industries preferred
  • Experience with project management and project financials preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the SAP system preferred
  • Advanced knowledge within corporate finance systems, preferably within pharmaceutical industries preferred
