The Bio+Health Business Development team supports and consults portfolio companies on their go-to-market strategy, focusing on market and business development. The Associate will be a key member of this team, responsible for building commercial and strategic partnership opportunities for the portfolio within a16z's network of executives, privately held companies, and federal agencies. The team's objective is to aid portfolio companies in achieving product-market fit and scaled commercialization. This role involves managing day-to-day interactions with portfolio companies, fostering connections with industry partners, tracking interactions, preparing documents, and overseeing project and account management.

Requirements

2–3 years of experience in healthcare, consulting, partnerships, project coordination, or related roles
Self starter, strong work ethic, collaborative mindset, and positive attitude
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across operational groups
Experience in consulting, operations, project management, or similar roles where organization and relationship management were important
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and track detailed follow-ups
Proficiency in Excel / Google Suite and presentation tools
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through

Responsibilities

Assist in the Firm's relationships with corporate partners in Healthcare
Track partnership opportunities and maintain internal systems
Support the coordination of internal projects
Assist in organizing events, roundtables, and industry convenings with partners
Create presentation materials for internal and external audiences
Maintain documentation and dashboards that track partner engagement, meetings, and outcomes
Support the coordination and organization of corporate partner touchpoints
