About The Position

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00] The position location can be flexible within the FirstEnergy Service territory, but preferred in Akron, Ohio. Summary: FirstEnergy Corp. is looking to fill one (1) Assistant Analyst Position. This position will work within the Environmental Department in support of FirstEnergy operations. The selected candidate will be tasked with facilitating compliance with company document storage and retention requirements of all environmental documents. This position will also be required to help with the departmental procurement needs for contracted support services and rate recovery.

Requirements

  • Two-year degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or a related discipline preferred, with a minimum 0-2 years related work experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 2 years of direct, related experience will be considered
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience with third party customers or stakeholders
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions in selecting the most appropriate path to resolution
  • Fluency with FileNet metadata development, bulk transfers, and document retrieval.
  • Familiarity with and ability to recognize and organize appropriately classify documents into categories to determine retention requirements.
  • Experience with the creation of Coupa requisitions and troubleshooting problems.
  • Experience with Permitting and Compliance related to the energy sector with a focus on energy delivery.
  • Experience with Environmental Remediation and spill clean-up.
  • Experience with Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plans.
  • Familiarity with Ash and Coal Combustion Bi-products regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with Avetta.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing, publishing, and/or distributing reports/updates as needed.
  • Supporting systems and process improvements for the FirstEnergy Environmental Department.
  • Providing a consistent level of service, continuous support and proactive involvement with leadership and peers.
  • Supporting the Environmental Department in reaching goals and meeting deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and judgement, Producing a variety of correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Demonstrate sound internal and/or external customer service, meet customer needs by providing sound service and responsiveness, increase understanding of customer expectations and improve job skills.
  • Coordinate and act as a Subject Matter Expert for the storage and retention of Environmental documents. Provide retrieval and training support as needed. This responsibility will generally encompass 50-75% of this job.
  • Develop processes and training for record retention for environmental.
  • Support Check Request / No PO payments through SAP.
  • Identify opportunities to utilize blanket POs to limit administrative burden for repetitive items.
  • Support annual RAC filing requirements and quarterly reporting.
  • All other duties as assigned.
