YOU As the Brake Press Operator, you are responsible for bending, seating, flanging, and top flanging material to the specifications contained within work orders and production drawings in such a manner as to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, LEAN and production goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • 1 month required: Related manufacturing experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
  • Safety: able to consistently prioritize safety by demonstrating a safe work practices by promoting a safe work environment.
  • Attendance: able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.
  • Mathematical Reasoning: able to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents.
  • Reading Comprehension: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Problem Solving: able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Analysis/ Reasoning: able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Speaking: able to effectively communicate in group settings and one-on-one, with all departments and at all levels within the organization.
  • Measurements: able to read a tape measure to 1/32” tolerance and to use combination squares to measure angles to +/- 1 degree.
  • Tools: hand and power tools as well as powered industrial equipment.

  • Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification (will certify at hire) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machine for required operation (bending, flanging, seating, top flanging) and manufacture parts according to prints and work orders. (75%)
  • Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per procedures. (10%)
  • Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements. (5%)
  • Package finished products in cartons, applying labels, and palletizing finished products. (5%)
  • Gather and stage work and maintain a clean work environment. (5%)
