About The Position

The Associate Biologist position at ATCC is an entry-level role focused on the manufacturing of biological materials. The successful candidate will work onsite in Manassas, VA, under guidance to support the production of biological cultures and derivative products, while also contributing to data collection and documentation. This role is integral to supporting the global scientific community with trusted biological materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific field with 0-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Hands-on laboratory experience and aseptic technique preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
• Prior exposure to microbiology (bacteriology, mycology, protistology), molecular biology, cell biology, or virology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing or quality control (QC) testing of biological products by following standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other controlled documents.
• Maintain laboratory safety, operations, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain production batch records in compliance with good laboratory practices.
• Collect, analyze, and report data, ensuring meticulous documentation.
• Master aseptic technique, gain experience with various cell lines and organisms, and tackle routine challenges in alignment with organizational policies.
