About The Position

Operation Samahan (OpSam Health) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves the San Diego County community. Founded in 1973 in a barber shop in Downtown San Diego by Filipino health professionals offering services to immigrants who did not have the finances, linguistic skills, or ability to navigate the health care system. Today, Operation Samahan has evolved into a diverse community health center with services available in National City, Mira Mesa, City Heights, and Rancho Penasquitos. We provide primary care, dental, behavioral health, family planning, integrative health and wellness, healthy eating, civic engagement, and other health related services to the uninsured, underinsured, and underserved families of all income levels regardless of their ability to pay.

Requirements

  • California BBS registered AMFT, ASW, APCC
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Must have a high level of organizational skills
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to relate to and work well with people of all ages, social and ethnic backgrounds and maintain client confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team to inspire confidence and trust in clients and staff
  • Understanding of client needs as consumers of health care and focus services around those needs
  • Ability to complete many different duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure
  • Ability to work under stress when confronted with critical or unusual situations
  • Demonstrates ability to exercise analytic ability

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group therapy as well as psycho-educational groups
  • Perform behavioral health assessments, treatment planning
  • Document all services
  • Perform peer chart auditing
  • Work with department operations to achieve goals
  • Assist clients with referrals to community-based programs
  • Provide culturally informed and competent services to underserved communities
  • Attend Clinical Supervision with a qualified Opsam Clinical Supervisor for a total of 2 units of supervision
