About The Position

Associate Behavior Consultant (ABC) 📍 Sacramento, CA (surrounding areas) 💰 Salary: $72,000.00 annually 🕒 Schedule: Monday–Friday 🚫 Remote: No COME JOIN OUR TEAM! We are hiring compassionate, dedicated professionals to support adults and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Position Summary The Associate Behavior Consultant (ABC) supports individuals with developmental disabilities by developing, implementing, and monitoring behavior plans designed to reduce interfering behaviors and increase positive replacement behaviors. This role involves assessments, report writing, staff training, and collaboration with care teams across group homes and day programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid California Driver’s License required
  • Must pass all pre-employment requirements, including background check
  • Current First Aid / CPR certification
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • ABA training or experience preferred
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 6 months

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) for new clients
  • Update behavioral assessments regularly
  • Review behavioral data to evaluate effectiveness of behavior plans
  • Write initial, annual, and progress behavior reports
  • Attend and participate in annual IPP meetings
  • Observe clients in homes and day programs
  • Train and provide feedback to Direct Support Professionals and management staff
  • Collaborate with administrators to address behavior concerns
  • Conduct bi-monthly and as-needed staff in-service trainings
  • Update behavior plans following severe behaviors or special incident reports
  • Develop goals to increase functional replacement behaviors
  • Maintain accurate consulting hour logs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
