About The Position

The Government Associate Banker role is for customer-focused individuals who enjoy building relationships and providing financial advice. As a Banker Associate, you will help bankers cover new prospects, deepen existing client relationships, complete portfolio reviews, build market share, and manage client dialogue. You will play an integral part in contributing to new sales targets in treasury and banking. Operating semi-independently within the Government Banking team, you will introduce comprehensive solutions to government clients and prospects, supporting bankers and treasury management officers in expanding and nurturing state and local government relationships within the Commercial Banking & Specialized Industries target space. Your systematic approach to relationship management and prospecting, along with extensive local connections and market knowledge, will be crucial in identifying needs and suggesting suitable banking services.

Requirements

  • 2+ years with above average performance results in a similar banking role or related experience.
  • Outstanding professional reputation and integrity
  • Strong leadership skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and develop and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to present to clients and prospects to create and retain new and profitable relationships in a highly competitive environment
  • Extensive knowledge of products and services

Nice To Haves

  • Excellent problem solving, oral, and written communication skills
  • Superior knowledge of the market dynamics and its business environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Treasury Management Officer (TMO) On client proposals to identify appropriate Treasury solutions, perform cost and benefit analysis, competitive pricing and run profitability models.
  • Assist with client call preparation by creating relationship review materials, pitch books, account plans, and conducting customer research.
  • Develop a understanding of clients’ Treasury cash management structure and objectives.
  • Work with the TMO’s throughout the sales cycle to manage pipeline and ensure services and pricing are set up timely and accurately.
  • Champion a culture of innovation and a customer centric mindset
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation or strategic partnerships
  • Find ways to drive efficiency with existing technical infrastructure through automation, while embracing the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies
