We are currently accepting applications for a Associate Autonomy Engineer (3 openings) in our Applied Sensing division, based in the vibrant city of Dayton, Ohio! As a Associate Autonomy Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and inclusive community that values excellence and innovation. UDRI is embarking on a new project involving developing a nonlinear feedback control law for fighter-type aircraft. The goal of this particular autonomy researcher position is to explore the potential of a novel approach intended to generate desired complex UAV maneuvers.

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field
  • Familiarity with Matlab
  • Work involving controls engineering concepts
  • Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen
  • MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical concepts discussed in academic papers or journals
  • Demonstrated experience performing high level research supporting DoD customers, including but not limited to AFRL
  • Research involving flight dynamics or multi-UAV control
  • Demonstrated, effective interpersonal skills
  • Active US SECRET (or higher) clearance
